Playcall: 14/15/16 Smash Nebraska's quarterback sneak call. The line uses wedge blocking, attacking the inside of the defenders to create room for the QB to lunge forward. Year in and year out, NU is the nation's best quarterback sneak team, with its powerful line almost assured of any third-and-a-short-one situation. The 1997 version of the Pipeline may have been the best of the best with a powerful line creating creases for tall and strong QB Scott Frost. On the Crystal Clear video, a coach on the NU headsets can be heard remarking that the Tennessee defensive line disappeared in the face of a 16 Smash. It can be called to attack at either guard or straight ahead. |
