"Wide Trips" is a variation of Trips with a split end on the weakside instead of another tight end. I don't know what the official Husker name for this formation is. The Huskers sometimes use this set with the quarterback in shotgun, but I don't know how they call that either. The mystery continues: I've watched Ron Brown make what looks like the same signal for this formation and regular Trips. NU sometimes motions one flanker back to the weak side transforming this set to a Spread formation.
